2012
On May 11, 2012 at 1142 hours, NGPD received a report of a theft in the 1400 block of Baltimore Pike. Upon arrival the victims related that on May 10, 2012 at 1930 hours a truck is seen on video on the property removing a 28-30’ yellow fiberglass extension ladder with aluminum rungs. The vehicle was later seen by the victim who was able to supply the police with a PA registration. Investigation is pending follow up with the vehicle owner.
On May 11, 2012 at 1039 hours, NGPD received a report of a theft from the unit block of Pyles Mountain Lane. Upon contact with the victim she related that someone stole 3 flower pots from her residence. Two pots were gray concrete material and the last was beige plastic. Total value of the pots, $225. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On May 9, 2012 at 1747 hours, NGPD responded to the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike for a report of a theft. Upon arrival the victim related that his employees cashed multiple checks for a total of $1725. Some of the checks were returned with no record of account (fraudulent) and some for non-sufficient funds. Investigation is pending contact with subject who presented checks.
On May 8, 2012 at 2106 hours, NGPD responded to the unit block of Sherwood Drive for a report of terroristic threats. Upon arrival the victims related that they had received a threatening phone call from a salesman they had placed an order with but then cancelled. The salesman threatened bodily harm to the victims since they cancelled their order and he was terminated from the company. He also has knowledge of where they live and work etc. Investigation is pending actor information from previous employer.
On May 8, 2012 at 0817 hours, NGPD responded to the 400 block of Highland Court for a criminal mischief report. Upon arrival the victim related that the previous night she heard a loud noise like something hit the house but her husband was unable to find any damage in the dark. This morning she discovered the dormer style window above the front door had been cracked from the center out with what appeared to be a rock that was still in the grass. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On May 4, 2012 at 2129 hours, NGPD responded to a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle in the area of Chambers Road on Baltimore Pike. Upon arrival the victim stated a rock was thrown at his vehicle causing his windshield to shatter. Repair for the windshield is estimated at $400. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On May 2, 2012 at 1424 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Sharp Road for a report of an aggressive dog loose. The victims claimed the neighbor’s dog was on their property and was acting aggressively. The dog owner was uncooperative and stated her dog had not gone off her property. The victims claimed this has happened before and they are afraid of the dog. The dog owner was cited for confinement of dogs. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On May 1, 2012 at 2000 hours, NGPD received a report of a dog terrorizing children earlier that day in the 100 block of New Garden Road. The victim had photographs of the dog in his yard. The owner of the dog was cited again for confinement of dogs and a message was left for the SPCA reference to the aggressiveness of the dog. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On May 1, 2012 at 1356 hours, NGPD received a report of a possible assault that occurred in the 400 block of Hillendale Road. The victims arrived at the station with a translator and advised that the previous evening at 2150 hours they were assaulted by their former employer. They state their boss arrived and found them drinking, which is not allowed on the property. He became irate and destructive, overturning a table, punching the TV and kicking walls. When the victim yelled at him to calm down he held a gun to his forehead. He then told them to leave. Investigation is ongoing.
On May 1, 2012 at 0840 hours, NGPD responded to the 200 block of Hyde Park Road for a theft from a vehicle discovered. Upon arrival the victim related that sometime during the night items were stolen from his unlocked car. He woke up to find the doors and hatch to his car open. Taken from inside were a wheel lock key, a camera, I-pod, car keys to another vehicle and miscellaneous clothing and workout gear. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On April 26, 2012 at 1221 hours, NGPD responded to a business in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike for a report of retail theft. Upon arrival an employee pointed out the subject who had been pouring energy drinks from their bottles into a fountain container to pay less for the item. This had happened on multiple occasions and the subject was finally confronted. Total loss to the store $34.96. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On April 26, 2012 at 1058 hours, NGPD responded for a report of a theft that had taken place in the 9100 block of Gap Newport Pike. The victim related that while her car was at a local repair shop the vehicle name and emblems had been removed from the front and rear of the car. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On April 25, 2012 at 1755 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Candlewyck Drive for a well being check. The caller stated that a subject in the residence was going to kill himself with his vehicle. There was also mention of a gun inside the residence. The area was searched for the subject using GPS on his cell phone. He was located in the parking lot of a business and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. He agreed to go to the hospital for an evaluation. Investigation closed.
On April 24, 2012 at 1939 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a fight in the 8800 block of Gap Newport Pike. The caller stated that 3 Hispanic males were beating up another Hispanic male. Upon arrival 3 males in a vehicle were detained. The victim was located inside a residence and appeared to have abrasions all over his upper body, a deep laceration to the right wrist (requiring 5 stitches) and swelling to his face in several areas. The 3 males in the vehicle were taken into custody after the witness and victim made a positive ID. All were video arraigned and remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On April 21, 2012 at 2005 hours, NGPD responded to the 300 block of Scarlett Road for a report of an intoxicated person trying to ride a bike. Upon arrival contact was made with the subject who was intoxicated and had an open container in his bike basket. He and the bike were transported to his residence and he was advised he would be receiving a citation. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On April 20, 2012 at 2350 hours, NGPD responded to a disturbance that occurred in the parking lot of a business in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike. Upon arrival the victim and witness related that the victim’s ex boyfriend arrived in the parking lot and began to call her vulgar names and threatened her and her current boyfriend. Contact was made with the male who admitted he called the victim names but denied the threats. He was advised he was being cited for his actions. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On April 20, 2012 at 2230 hours, NGPD observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the dirt lot at Sheehan Road and Gap Newport Pike. Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle and an odor of freshly burnt marijuana was detected. The juveniles were very cooperative with police and were turned over to their parents who arrived on scene. No charges being filed at this time. Investigation is closed.
On April 17, 2012 at 1208 hours, NGPD responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Old Limestone Road. Upon arrival the victim related that he and his on and off again girlfriend had become involved in an argument over an item she pawned for money. The girlfriend threw a rock at the victim, striking him in the knee causing slight injury. Investigation is cleared by arrest, girlfriend cited for harassment.
On April 16, 2012 at 1345 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Sunnydell Road for a report of an assault involving students. The victim related that he made a comment about a friend’s sister. The male then struck the victim in the head several times causing pain and a bump. Contact was made with the actor who admitted to the altercation. Charges pending medical treatment received by victim. Investigation is ongoing.
On April 13, 2012 at 1732 hours, NGPD responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 100 block of Santilli Road. Upon arrival the victim related that he and his mother’s mailbox had been struck and knocked down, possibly by a vehicle. Truck tire marks were observed leading to the area where the mailboxes had stood. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On April 12, 2012 at 1715 hours, NGPD responded to a business in the 100 block of Newark Road for a criminal mischief report. Upon arrival an employee pointed out the shattered front window to the building they use for meetings. Three small impact marks were observed on the window consistent with a BB or pellet gun. Video surveillance does not cover the area in question. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On April 11, 2012 at 1152 hours, NGPD responded to a business in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike for a criminal mischief report. Upon arrival employees advised that an older black female driving a blue Mercedes sedan had driven off from the pump with the hose still attached. When asked for ID and insurance information she left without providing the same. Surveillance cameras were unable to provide a vehicle registration. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On April 10, 2012 at 1344 hours, NGPD responded to a facility in the 1300 block of Newark Road for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival employees advised that the patient had become enraged and threatened staff with a fire extinguisher after causing damage to the property. The patient also became combative with responding officers while being taken into custody. She was arraigned and remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On April 9, 2012 at 0905 hours, NGPD took a theft report for a business in the 100 block of Sunnydell Road. The victim stated that sometime between 4/8 1430 hrs and 4/9 0800 hrs someone stole two 140’ electrical cords with Hubbell ends. Total loss value $1760. The business has no surveillance cameras. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On April 9, 2012 at 0805 hours, NGPD responded to a business in the 900 block of Penn Green Road for a report of criminal mischief. Upon arrival the victim related that sometime between 4/8 1400 hrs and 4/9 0700 someone had “tagged” his property. On the north side of the building 2 doors were painted with yellow paint. Also on the building’s north side, an air conditioning unit was painted. Damage is valued between $200-$300. Photos of the damage were sent to other agencies for possible matches. Investigation is ongoing.
On April 4, 2012 at 0945 hours, NGPD did receive a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle that occurred the night prior in the 200 block of Chambers Road. The victim related that at 2214 hours she heard a loud boom noise and went outside to find her vehicle covered in ketchup. In the morning she found the balloon pieces that appeared to have held the ketchup “bomb”. The vehicle was washed off and sustained no permanent damage. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On April 4, 2012 at 1736 hours, NGPD did observe a juvenile male walking in the area of the unit block of Clubhouse Drive with something on his waist. A closer look indicated the item was a semi automatic style pistol in a nylon holster. The male was asked to stop for safety reasons. He did not comply at first and tried to remove his weapon from the holster. He finally complied and the gun was found to be an air gun. The male who has a learning disability that limits his social skills and thought process was turned over to his mother who was advised of police concern over the weapon.
On April 3, 2012 at 1935 hours, NGPD observed heavy smoke while on patrol in the area of the 300 block of Pemberton Road. The cause was found to be a resident burning leaves. He was asked to extinguish the fire due to the smoke conditions and did so without incident.
On April 2, 2012 at 1623 hours, NGPD responded to the intersection of Newark Road and Broad Run Road to assist New Castle County Police with traffic control. NCCPD were investigating a one vehicle accident where the vehicle had flipped onto its roof just north of Little Baltimore Road and was blocking traffic.
On March 30, 2012 at 1830 hours, NGPD responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 600 block of Cabot Court. Upon arrival the victim related that she observed the glass on her rear basement door shattered. No other damage was observed to the residence and there were no signs of forced entry indicating an attempted burglary. The victim stated juveniles are always in her yard. With the presence of rocks and stones around the door area, it is believed the damage was done by a juvenile. Damage valued at $600. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On March 29, 2012 at 2315 hours, NGPD followed a vehicle that was observed swerving onto the shoulder and across the center line into the oncoming traffic lane in the 9000 block of Gap Newport Pike. A traffic stop was initiated however the vehicle did not pull over until it reached Limestone and Southwood Roads. Upon contact with the driver an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. The driver failed to perform Field Sobriety Tests correctly and was taken into custody for DUI without incident. He refused to submit to a chemical breath test. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 27, 2012 at 2308 hours, NGPD observed a vehicle make a left turn from NB Newark Road onto WB Baltimore Pike on a red light. A traffic stop was conducted in the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike and upon contact with the driver an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. The driver was unable to perform some Field Sobriety Tests due to medical conditions but failed others given to him. He was taken into custody for DUI without incident and submitted to a chemical breath test. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 26, 2012 at 0650 hours, NGPD responded to the 600 block of Penn Green Road for a report of a theft discovered. Upon arrival the victim related that sometime between 3/24/12 at 1630 hours and 0600 this date someone stole 8 truck batteries from 2 International dump trucks. A third truck had been tampered with but the actor(s) were unable to remove the battery due to rusted bolts. The batteries are valued at $200 each for a total loss of $1600. Interviews with neighbors provided no useful information. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On March 25, 2012 at 2000 hours, NGPD observed an accident at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Newark Road. The striking vehicle ran into the back of a vehicle waiting at a red light. After impact the driver backed up and made a U-turn in an attempt to flee the scene. A traffic stop was conducted a short distance away and the driver smelled of an alcoholic beverage. He admitted to trying to leave because he was drunk. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 23, 2012 at 1140 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Mercer Mill Road for a theft report. Upon arrival the victim related that sometime between 3/20 and 3/21/12 someone had stolen his Grumman made aluminum 15- foot canoe from his yard. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On March 23, 2012 at 0614 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Interlachen Court for a burglary just occurred. Upon arrival the house sitter stated she was awakened by a person in the house. The subject was a friend of one of the homeowner’s children. He had items from the house in his hand when confronted. He left the residence and she called police. Footprints led to the actor’s house and a positive ID was made. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the station. Prior to his arraignment he broke a pair of police handcuffs. The actor was also questioned by PSPA for a burglary earlier in the morning and admitted to the incident. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 22, 2012 at 1444 hours, NGPD responded to the 400 block of Church Road for a report of a theft from a vehicle. Upon arrival the victim related that between 1000-1400 hours, someone had entered his unlocked car and removed his CD stereo. The dash was damaged during the incident and the ignition also showed signs of damage. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On March 21, 2012 at 1853 hours, NGPD responded to the 200 block of Chambers Road for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrivals, the victims, who are employees of the business, stated a driver had become belligerent and cursed at them. They became afraid he was out of control. The actor was advised he would be cited for Disorderly Conduct and advised he was not allowed on the property again. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 19, 2012 at 1538 hours, NGPD was dispatched to a report of harassment that occurred earlier in the day in the 100 block of Sunnydell Road. Upon arrival the victim related that she has a problem with a fellow student calling her names. This date that student threw trash down her shirt at lunch and slapped her in the face. The actor was contacted and did admit to the incident but stated he was getting her back for an earlier altercation, he was advised he would be cited. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 17, 2012 at 1842 hours, NGPD responded to a report of an assault that occurred in the 900 block of Penn Green Road. The victim, who was interviewed at the hospital, related that after work he was assaulted by 4 unknown males. The attack was witnessed by family and co-workers. Investigation is ongoing.
On March 17, 2012 at 0711 hours, NGPD responded to the 200 block of Laurel Heights Road for a criminal mischief report to a vehicle. Upon arrival the victim related that she discovered her vehicle had been covered with what appeared to be chocolate syrup. No damage was done as the syrup was able to be washed off. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On March 16, 2012 at 1353 hours, NGPD responded to the 300 block of Scarlett Road for a retail theft. Employees advised a white Caravan with a DE registration had pumped $30.17 worth of gasoline and drove off without paying. Investigation is ongoing as this is the second occurrence with this vehicle.
On March 15, 2012 at 1357 hours, NGPD responded to the unit block of McCormick Drive for a theft from a vehicle discovered. Upon arrival the victim’s mother stated that $5 in US coin currency had been taken from the console of her son’s vehicle. It is unknown at this time, as the victim is away at school, if anything else is missing. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On March 14, 2012 at 2322 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of New Garden Road for a report of a verbal domestic between family members. Upon arrival the son was found to be intoxicated and was uncooperative with police and his parents. His parents were advised he would be receiving a citation for underage drinking. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 12, 2012 at 2248 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Church Street for a report of terroristic threats. The victim related that her husband threatened to shoot her in the head with a gun he had recently purchased. The defendant was later taken into custody and arraigned on charges. Several days later the victim reported that she made up the incident because she was mad at her husband for things he said to her. Charges are pending for false reports. Investigation is ongoing.
On March 12, 2012 at 1703 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Pine Street for juveniles possibly using Act 64. Upon arrival 4 juvenile males fled the area on foot but were caught a short distance away. One subject was found to be in possession of marijuana. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 10, 2012 at 1630 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Hillside Lane for a burglary discovered. Upon arrival the victim related that he observed a cooler from his garage along his driveway. The cooler had contained a case of beer which was now gone. The victim observed a juvenile walking away from his property and confronted him. He admitted to the act and left the area. He was identified by a neighbor and the victim contacted the juvenile and his mother at their residence. At this time the juvenile denied his involvement. Investigation is ongoing.
On March 9, 2012 at 0808 hours, NGPD responded to the unit block of Evans Drive for a theft from a vehicle. Upon arrival the victim related that sometime overnight someone entered his unlocked vehicle and removed his debit card and $4 in US currency. No activity was detected on the card and it was cancelled. At 1516 hours, a victim from the unit block of Altemus Drive responded to the police station to report a theft from his vehicle that was discovered on March 7th. Taken from his unlocked vehicle was a GPS unit, a 35mm camera and $20 in US currency. Both investigations are inactive without leads.
On March 8, 2012 at 1550 hours, NGPD responded to the area of Newark Road and Buttonwood Road for a report of a bicyclist urinating along the side of the road. The incident was witnessed by a bus driver who called her supervisor who in turn called police. The area was checked for the subject with negative results. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On March 7, 2012 at 2316 hours, NGPD observed a vehicle in the 300 block of Scarlett Road with an inoperable brake light. A traffic stop was conducted and upon contact with the driver, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. The PBT results showed the driver was over the legal limit. He was taken into custody without incident. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 7, 2012 at 2105 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Church Street for a domestic between husband and wife. Upon arrival both parties stated the other had struck them during the argument. Both were cited for Disorderly Conduct and Harassment. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 3, 2012 at 1804 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft at a business in the 300 block of Scarlett Rd. The actor pumped $25.48 worth of gasoline into her vehicle and drove away without paying. Video surveillance provided a vehicle registration and a witness identified the vehicle owner as the actor who was cited for the offense. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On March 1, 2012 at 1714 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft in the 100 block of Five Farms Circle. Upon arrival the victim related that jewelry and money were taken from the residence at an unknown time. Part of the jewelry taken was an engagement ring valued at $8000. The victim believes that a worker from a painting company is responsible. Investigation is ongoing, pending contact with employees.
On February 29, 2012 at various times, NGPD responded to multiple reports of criminal mischief discovered in the northeastern section of the township, Bancroft Woods, McClellan Farms, 200-300 block of Pemberton Road and 400 block of Line Road. The victims related that they had damage done to the mailboxes, vehicles and homes by what appear to be rocks thrown from moving vehicles.
On February 28, 2012 at 1932 hours, NGPD responded to a business in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike for a retail theft. Upon arrival employees stated the actor arrived in a vehicle with numerous other occupants. He entered the store, put several items into his pockets and ran out the door dropping items. A juvenile female in the store who arrived with the vehicle was taken into custody and charged with retail theft, underage drinking and possession of a controlled substance. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On February 27, 2012 at 1428 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a domestic in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike. Upon arrival the defendant was refusing to allow the victim to leave the residence. She was asked several times to comply with officers instructions but failed to do so and lunged at the victim. She was taken into custody and charged with Disorderly Conduct. Investigation cleared by arrest.
On February 24, 2012 at 1443 hours, NGPD responded to the 900 block of West Baltimore Pike for a report of a male lying on the ground. Upon arrival it was determined the subject was under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance personnel. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On February 23, 2012 at 0825 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Bancroft Road for a report of a theft. Upon arrival the victim related that during the night someone had taken 2 electrical cords with hubble ends from the conveyors. The items taken total more than $1000 in value. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On February 22, 1012 at 1816 hours, NGPD were called to a burglary discovered in the 200 block of Delaware Circle. Sometime during the day the actor(s) were able to gain access to the residence through unlocked doors and remove several items, including TV’s and guitars. Investigation is ongoing.
On February 20, 2012 at 1720 hours, NGPD received a report of a theft that occurred in the 100 block of Willow Street. The victims related that they paid their PECO bill but received a call from a male claiming to work for PECO on more than one occasion. He told them if they sent payment via a MoneyPak card they would be paid up for the year. They sent the money and received another call from the male to send more money. Upon contacting PECO it was learned they were up to date on their bill and the male caller did not work for the company. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On February 17, 2012 at 1928 hours, NGPD responded to the unit block of Hartefeld Drive for multiple reports of thefts from vehicles. Five vehicles were broken into and had numerous ranging from electronic equipment, check books and a purse containing credit cards. A stolen credit card was used but the business has no video surveillance. Investigation is inactive.
On February 17, 2012 at 0700 hours, NGPD responded to assist the Chester County Health Department in the 700 block of Penn Green Road with an individual who was selling food without a license. Police were responding when advised the van had left. The van was located and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver was cited for multiple violations and the vehicle was towed to be cleaned out by the Health Dept. Investigation cleared by arrest.
On February 17, 2012 at 0725 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a domestic in the 400 block of Buttonwood Road. Upon arrival the victim related that he was struck by his son who was refusing to go to school. The son was cited for harassment. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On February 15, 2012 at 1115 hours, NGPD received a report of an assault that occurred earlier in the day in the 100 block of Landenberg Road. The victim related that she was struck by the actor when she declined to go to a meeting with him. He threw her to the floor several times causing injury. The actor was arrested later in the day and was remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail. Investigation cleared by arrest.
On February 14, 2012 at 1923 hours, NGPD were dispatched to a report of a retail theft in the 300 block of Scarlett Road. Loss Prevention followed the actor who was being detained by Kennett Police. The actor was turned over to NGPD and cited for his first retail theft offense. The items, worth $23.38, were recovered but not able to be re-sold. Investigation cleared by arrest.
On February 10, 2012 at 0700 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft discovered in the 600 block of Hillendale Road. Upon arrival the victim related that sometime between February 7th 1500 hrs and February 8th 0700 hrs someone cleanly cut and removed 120 feet of power cords. The cords are valued at $270. The property has no surveillance cameras. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On February 9, 2012 at 2300 hours, NGPD received a report of an assault that occurred earlier in the day in the 9100 block of Gap Newport Pike. The victim related that while at her ex-boyfriends residence to gather personal items she was assaulted by him. She stated he grabbed her by the hair, threw her onto the ground and then proceeded to punch her in the head, kick her about the body and stomp on her ribs. The victim had already received medical attention and suffered a fractured rib due to the assault. A warrant was issued for the actor. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On February 7, 2012 at 2220 hours, NGPD observed a vehicle tailgating another in the 1400 block of Baltimore Pike. A traffic stop was conducted and upon contact with the driver an odor of alcohol was detected. The driver was given a field sobriety test and failed. For safety reasons no further tests were performed and the driver was taken into custody without incident. Charges include DUI and other traffic related offenses. Investigation cleared by arrest.
On February 6, 2012 at 1530 hours, NGPD responded to the 6800 block of Limestone Road for a report of a theft. Upon arrival the victim related that he had a pile of scrap metal in his yard. He observed the pile appeared smaller and found that someone had taken the copper wire and steel from the pile but left the aluminum. He believes the theft to have occurred February 2nd during the day. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On February 5, 2012 at 2317 hours, NGPD observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, well above the posted speed limit, in the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike. A traffic stop was conducted and upon contact with the driver an odor of alcohol was detected. The passenger was cited for an open container violation, 2 open bottles of Corona were in the console. The driver was found to have an outstanding warrant issued by PSPA for DUI and was turned over to them. Charges filed as detainer. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On February 5, 2012 at 2317 hours, NGPD observed a vehicle travelling at approx. 70-80 mph in the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike. The vehicle also crossed the center line on 3-4 occasions. A traffic stop was conducted and upon contact with the driver an odor of alcohol was detected. The driver was taken into custody without incident and was turned over to PA State Police for an outstanding DUI warrant. Investigation is closed by arrest.
On February 3, 2012 at 0708 hours, NGPD responded to assist the Health Department with an illegal food vendor in the 400 block of Penn Green Road. Upon arrival the food was confiscated, the vehicle was towed and the seller was advised she was being charged with violating the township soliciting ordinance. Investigation is closed by arrest.
On February 2, 2012 at 2200 hours, NGPD observed a vehicle driving onto the shoulder several times almost striking multiple mailboxes. A traffic stop was conducted and upon contact with the driver an odor of alcohol was detected. The driver was taken into custody without incident and charged with DUI. Investigation is closed by arrest.
On February 1, 2012 at 1118 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a disturbance that occurred the previous day in the 100 block of Bancroft Road. Upon arrival police were advised that during an altercation between two female employees another female employee was cut with a knife. The actor did not intentionally cut the victim but was advised she would be charged for the incident.
On January 31, 2012 at 1358 hours, NGPD responded to a burglary of an occupied residence in the unit block of Radburn Lane. The homeowner stated that she saw a black male approach her front door. She did not answer and then heard the front door being kicked in. Taken from the residence were electronics, jewelry and credit cards. Witnesses reported seeing a grayish Dodge Charger with a handicap placard in the area at the time of the incident. Investigation is ongoing.
On January 31, 2012 at 0956 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a burglary discovered at a business in the 900 block of Penn Green Road. Actor(s) used a key left for the cleaners to gain access and remove tools, scrap aluminum, wire and office equipment. Investigation is ongoing.
On January 31, 2012 at 0829 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a burglary in the 9100 block of Gap Newport Pike. Someone had used a hidden key to the business to gain access to the building, vehicles keys and then remove Sunoco gas cards from the vehicles. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On January 30, 2012 at 1815 hours, NGPD responded to a theft discovered in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike. Upon arrival an employee advised that sometime between 1/27/12 and 1/30/12 someone stole $4000 worth of motors and gear boxes from the business. A suspicious green truck with dual wheels and unknown DE registration was seen at the business on 1/27/12. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On January 30, 2012 at 0833 hours, NGPD responded to a theft discovered at a business in the 1200 block of Newark Road. Upon arrival employees advised that sometime over the weekend, money and prescription medication were taken from employee’s desks. The cleaning company was on location during the time in question. Investigation is ongoing.
On January 29, 2012 at 1400 hours, NGPD observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed through a speed detail. A traffic stop was conducted in the area of Kaolin and Ewart Roads. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody without incident. He was arraigned by Judge Kraut of West Chester and remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post the $8500 bail. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On January 28, 2012 at 0014 hours, NGPD observed a vehicle driving erratically in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike. Contact was made with the driver who was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody without incident and then became uncooperative, refusing to be fingerprinted or submit to a breath test. He was arraigned by Judge Kraut of West Chester and released on $5000 unsecured bail. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On January 28, 2012 at 2305 hours, NGPD observed a vehicle tailgating and almost strike the fender of the marked patrol vehicle in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. There were also two young children in the vehicle that were not in car seats. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On January 28, 2012 at 1211 hours, NGPD responded to assist the fire department on a fire alarm in the 1300 block of Newark Road. Officers were advised the alarm was an actual fire that had since been put out. Upon arrival it was determined that the fire was now an arson investigation as it was intentionally set in the barn building meeting room. The fires had been set in two separate recycling containers. There was damage to the wall in the building but no one was injured. Investigation is ongoing.
On January 27, 2012 at 2227 hours, NGPD observed a motorcycle tailgating a vehicle and eventually pass the vehicle on the right in the 9000 block of Gap Newport Pike. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody without incident. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On January 25, 2012 at 1529 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a burglary discovered in the 200 block of Auburn Road. The front door had been forced open and the rooms inside ransacked. Multiple televisions and jewelry were taken. Investigation is ongoing.
On January 25, 2012 at 0826 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 900 block of W. Cypress St. The vehicle was later found to have been towed during an arrest by PSP Media. The subject arrested was found to be a former employee of the victim who did not wish to press charges. Investigation is closed.
On January 24, 2012 at 1418 hours, NGPD received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Hartefeld Drive. The vehicle was located in the area of Hartefeld Drive and Sharp Road. Upon contact with the driver, marijuana was smelled inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to possessing the illegal substance. He was arrested without incident. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On January 24, 2012 at 1331 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Porthcawl Court for a burglary discovered. The victims related that they found the front door had been forced open. Rooms were ransacked, jewelry and electronics were taken. Investigation is ongoing.
On January 24, 2012 at 1243 hours, NGPD responded to the 6700 block of Limestone Road for a theft in progress. Upon arrival the suspects were taken into custody for attempting to steal metal from the property. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On January 23, 2012 at 2328 hours, NGPD observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed fail to stop for several posted stop signs. A vehicle stop was conducted in the 100 block of Cooper Road. Upon contact with the driver it was determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody without incident. Investigation cleared by arrest.
On January 23, 2012 at 1420 hours, NGPD responded to a report of criminal mischief discovered in the 6700 block of Limestone Road. A lock to a bathroom door of the pool area was broken and the frame damaged to gain access. Two suspects returned to the location the following day and were taken into custody without incident after admitting to the offense. Investigation cleared by arrest.
On January 20, 2012 at 2232 hours, NGPD responded to a welfare check in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike. Upon arrival police were advised by the victim that a patron was drinking while her 2 children were in the car. When confronted by the victim, the actor assaulted her and attempted to leave. The actor was taken into custody without incident and the children were released to their father. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On January 19, 2012 at 1350 hours, NGPD responded to a report of an accidental overdose. Upon arrival the victim related that she was given a piece of orange “candy” by a friend’s brother. She began to feel weird and called for an ambulance. Police responded to the friend’s residence in the 400 block of Buttonwood Road and made contact with the subject. He admitted to giving the victim orange hash oil, which is an illegal substance. He was taken into custody without incident, arraigned and remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On January 19, 2012 at 1349 hours, NGPD responded to the unit block of Altemus Drive for a domestic related robbery. Upon arrival the victim related that while at a cleaning job she was approached by a family member demanding money. The actor entered the residence without permission and then assaulted the victim outside, robbing her of the money. Investigation is open, charges pending.
On January 19, 2012 at 0845 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Bancroft Road for a criminal mischief report. An employee advised it appeared someone tried to pry open the Bilco style basement doors to a vacant residence. The wood overlap was broken but entry was not made due to the doors being chained. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On January 16, 2012 at 1929 hours, NGPD received a report of a theft from a vehicle in the 900 block of W. Cypress St. The victim related that someone had taken cash and credit cards from her purse that was left in her vehicle. Victim believes the vehicle was locked but there is no evidence of forced entry. The actor(s) have attempted to use the cards for several purchases in the King of Prussia area but most transactions seem to have been declined. The police are working to obtain video surveillance from the locations to identify the actor(s). Investigation is ongoing.
On January 14, 2012 at 1258 hours, NGPD received a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle in the 100 block of Pau Nel Drive. Upon arrival the victim related that while away someone had damaged their vehicle in the driveway. Words were scratched into the trunk and an attempt at a drawing into the hood. On January 14, 2012 at 0822 hours, NGPD received a report of criminal mischief in the unit block of Altemus Drive. Upon arrival the victim related that upon leaving for work noticed his mailbox had been knocked off the post. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On January 12, 2012 at 2240 hours, NGPD received a report of a subject impersonating a police officer that started in the 900 block of Newark Rd. The victim related to police that she was headed southbound on Newark Road and saw a vehicle approach with a single red dash light flashing. She started to pull over and the vehicle turned off the light. She continued southbound on Gap Newport Pike and the vehicle turned on the light again. She pulled over in the area of Limestone Road. The subject who approached had on brown Timberland style boots and a black coat. She drove away and flagged down an officer on a traffic stop. Victim could provide no further details about the subject or vehicle other than it was a car. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On January 13, 2012 at 1700 hours, NGPD received a report of a theft in the 6700 block of Limestone Road. An employee stated someone pried the lock off a shed and stole an 8’x10’ roll of silicone fence wire. The fence is valued at $150. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On January 6, 2012 at 1539 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a burglary discovered in the 100 block of Fernwood Road. Upon arrival the victims related that upon arriving home discovered their TV in the driveway. The front door had been forced open and other electronic equipment was taken. Investigation is on-going.
On January 5, 2012 at 1215 hours, NGPD was dispatched to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1100 block of Newark Road. The victim related that while the box truck was being unloaded in the parking lot, 2 males jumped in and drove off. The vehicle was located on New Garden Road the next day. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On January 2, 2012 at 2337 hours, NGPD was dispatched for an unknown nature police call in the area of Kaolin and Ewart Roads. The caller told 911 he was lost. Upon arrival the male was found to be standing in the middle of the road and appeared intoxicated. He was taken into custody without incident and transported home. Investigation cleared by arrest.
On January 1, 2012 at 2207 hours, NGPD conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Baltimore Pike. Both the driver and passenger were found to be in possession of narcotics, marijuana and heroin. Both were taken into custody without incident. The passenger was also found to have an outstanding Bench warrant. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On January 1, 2012 at 0054 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a residential alarm in the 4000 block of Rosemont Drive. Upon arrival the front door was observed to have been kicked in. The victims related that the actor(s) had taken jewelry from the master bedroom. Investigation is on-going.

On December 28, 2011 at 1415 hours, NGPD responded to the 900 block of Penn Green Road for a report of a theft. The victims related that they noticed some items missing from their property. Taken was a 200 lb. Copper heron bird statue valued at $1700 and 3 copper pots valued at $200 each. Investigation is ongoing.
On December 27, 2011 at 1613 hours, NGPD responded to a theft in the 300 block of Scarlett Road. Upon arrival the victim related that her wallet was taken while shopping in the store. Video surveillance shows a male taking her wallet, leave the store, come back and pay for some items and then leave without paying for $41.31 worth of merchandise he puts into his bag. An ID was made and the subject was taken into custody at his residence without incident. The victim also reported her credit card was used for $33.27 worth of gasoline at a local station. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On December 27, 2011 at 0935 hours, NGPD was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief discovered in the 1200 block of Newark Road. Upon arrival the victim related that two mailboxes were damaged by what appeared to be a vehicle that was northbound on Newark Road. The vehicle left the roadway and after striking the boxes continued northbound. No evidence was left from the striking vehicle. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On December 26, 2011 at 1753 hours, NGPD was dispatched to a report of an erratic driver. The vehicle was stopped on Newark road in the area of Landenberg Road and contact was made with the driver who appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with DUI. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On December 25, 2011 at 0617 hours, NGPD responded to a report of an accident reported to be a vehicle into a residence. Upon arrival police discovered the vehicle into a trailer. The driver approached police and smelled of an alcoholic beverage. He was unable to pass field sobriety tests at the scene. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with DUI. The passenger was also cited with underage drinking. Investigation cleared by arrest.
On December 23, 2011 at 1237 hours, NGPD responded to a burglary discovered in the 800 block of Penn Green Road. The victim related that she was called by an employee who found the door open and the jam broken. Nothing was taken from the residence as the tenant was in the process of moving out. Investigation is ongoing.
On December 22, 2011 at 0820 hours, NGPD received a complaint of harassment. The victim related that she is receiving text messages and voicemails from her ex boyfriend. Contact was made with the subject and he was advised to stop all contact with the victim and her family. He agreed to do so. Investigation is closed.
On December 21, 2011 at 1722 hours, NGPD responded to a burglary discovered in the 100 block of Skyline Drive. The victim related that upon arriving home observed the exterior basement door open. Further investigation found an interior door had been kicked and the glass smashed out. The actor(s) had not been able to gain access to the residence. Investigation is ongoing.
On December 17, 2011 at 2045 hours, NGPD responded to two separate hit and run accidents involving the same driver. The first accident occurred at Gap Newport Pike and Newark Road and the second at Gap Newport Pike and Penn Green Road. The actor was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained as a result of the accident. Charges pending. Investigation is on-going.
On December 15, 2011 at 1413 hours, NGPD received a call for a retail theft in the 300 block of Scarlett Road. Employee advised the actor had taken ground beef and cheese and left the store without paying. When confronted in the parking lot he returned the items and asked not to have the police called. Upon contact with the actor, he admitted to the theft and stated he is currently on probation for the same. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On December 15, 2011 at 1204 hours, NGPD were dispatched to a report of a theft in the 100 block of Sunnydell Road. Upon arrival the caller stated a student had been found with a piece of metal from a broken desk. The student was suspended and his mother was notified that he was going to be charged for theft and related offenses. Investigation cleared by arrest.
On December 13, 2011 at 1150 hours, NGPD were dispatched to a theft from a vehicle in the 100 block of Rocky Springs Road. The victim related that she parked her car the previous night and upon entering the vehicle in the morning discovered her wallet missing from her purse. The wallet contained several credit cards, her driver’s license and Soc. Sec. Card. Victim had already cancelled the cards and was advised there had been no activity on them. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On December 10, 2011 at 2255 hours, NGPD responded to a report of thefts from vehicles in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike. Upon arrival the victims related they had their purses taken from inside the locked vehicles. The windows were shattered to gain entry. Credit cards were used at various locations. Investigation is pending information from the businesses where the card was used.
On December 9, 2011 at 1835 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft in the 600 block of Hillendale Road. Upon arrival the victim related that 17 heating coils and 8 compressors had been taken from the property. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On December 9, 2011 at 1540 hours and 1630 hours, the NGPD took similar reports of thefts in the 100 block of Chambers Road and 400 block of Cedar Woods Circle. Both victims related that they received a call from a person claiming to work for PECO and advising them their bill was overdue. They were advised to obtain a Green Dot Money Pak card and call back with the card number to avoid having their power shut off. Both victims did as instructed and then after providing the card number called PECO. They were advised their bills were not overdue. Investigation is active pending information from the Green Dot company.
On December 5, 2011 at 0741 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft in the 400 block of Bucktoe Road. The victim related that sometime after 2300 hours the previous night someone stole the Christmas inflatable decorations from her front yard. Value of the decorations is approx. $600. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On November 6, 2011 at 1245 hours, NGPD responded to a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle in the 100 block of Willow St. Upon arrival the Volkswagon GTI was observed to have baseball bat type holes in all the windows. The victim is letting family borrow the vehicle for transportation to work. Investigation is pending contact with a possible witness to the incident.
On November 3, 2011 at 1753 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a burglary in the 200 block of Sharp Road. Upon arrival it was discovered that the actor(s) had forced entry through the front door of the residence and removed cash and jewelry from inside. Investigation is ongoing.
On October 31, 2011 at 1722 hours, NGPD responded to a report of criminal mischief at the gazebo located at Sharp Road and Portmarnock Drive. Upon arrival 16-18 plastic spindles were observed on the ground. Of those it appeared that 6-8 were broken in half and not able to be put back in place. A witness stated she observed a group of 5-6 white females about 14-15 years old doing the damage. They got into a green vehicle and were last seen on Hartefeld Drive. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On October 31, 2011 at 1006 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle in the 800 block of Penn Green Road. Upon arrival the Subaru was observed to have the driver’s side front window smashed out. The business owner advised that the victim’s vehicle had been damaged over the weekend; the actor(s) had attempted to remove the stereo and removed several items from the vehicle itself, including the tires, wheels and gauges. Investigation is pending viewing of the surveillance video for suspect identification.
On October 29, 2011 at 1340 hours, NGPD investigated a suspicious vehicle in the area of Newark and Line Road. The occupant of the vehicle was intoxicated and had been sleeping in the car. She stated she was going to check herself into a treatment facility. She was transported by ambulance to the hospital and the vehicle was towed from the roadway.
On October 27, 2011 at 0928 hours, NGPD handled a suspicious conditions call in the 600 block of Cedar Woods Circle. The caller stated that she found her vehicles gas cap loose. No fuel was missing but she requested extra patrols due to previous incidents in the past.
On October 25, 2011 at 1302 hours, NGPD handled a suspicious vehicle complaint in the 6700 block of Limestone Road. Contact was made with the vehicle occupants who could provide no reason for being on the property. Vehicle was towed for vehicle code violations. Incident cleared.
On October 25, 2011 at 1020 hours, NGPD handled a report of a theft in the 300 block of Egypt Run Road. The victim related that she has been receiving less and less mail for two households. She specifically remembers seeing a magazine in her mailbox on 10/21/11 which never made it into the house. Incident was also reported to the post office. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On October 24, 2011 at 1340 hours, NGPD responded to a civil dispute in the 1400 block of Baltimore Pike. Upon arrival the caller related that her vehicle was at the business for repair. While there the business owner had broken a part and charged her for it. She did not think she was responsible for the amount. Advised to pay the business and address the matter civilly in District Court.
On October 23, 2011 at 1620 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a fight in the 500 block of Newark Road. Upon arrival the victim related that the defendant showed up at the residence with a baseball bat and assaulted him. Defendant was arrested without incident. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On October 22, 2011at 1745 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a burglary that occurred on October 20th in the 800 block of Penn Green Road. Upon arrival the victim related that her laptop was stolen from her room by a friend and another female. Investigation pending contact with suspects.
On October 20, 2011 at 1025 hours, NGPD responded to a report of terroristic threats in the 100 block of New Garden Road. Upon arrival the victim, a PECO employee, related that he was there to shut off power to the residence for non-payment. The occupant of the house came out and became confrontational, asking his girlfriend for his weapon. Investigation is pending further contact with victim and employer.
On October 18, 2011 at 1053 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft discovered in the 200 block of Glenfield Lane. Upon arrival the victim related that sometime overnight someone entered their unlocked vehicle and removed a Garmin GPS and pair of prescription sunglasses. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On October 17, 2011 at 1030 hours, NGPD responded to a report of an assault that occurred on October 15th in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike. The victim related that a co worker and he became involved in a verbal argument. The victim was then struck in the face causing several lacerations. Charges filed against the defendant, investigation cleared by arrest.
On October 15, 2011 at 1252 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft in the 300 block of Line Road. Upon arrival the victim’s wife state his Florida registration plate had been removed from the vehicle sometime overnight. The plate was entered into NCIC. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On October 14, 2011 at 2139 hours, NGPD responded to a report of an indecent assault that occurred in the 100 block of Watson Mill Road. Upon arrival it was learned the victim, a foreign exchange student, had been inappropriately touched by an acquaintance on the way home from school. The defendant was arrested without incident. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On October 13, 2011 at 0822 hours, NGPD responded to the 100 block of Willow Street for a criminal mischief report. A business employee related that gang marking graffiti had been found on a 53’ trailer belonging to the business. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On October 12, 2011 at 0952 hours, NGPD responded to the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike in reference to a stolen vehicle. The victim stated his Honda Civic had been stolen from the parking lot between 2300-0400 hours. Surveillance cameras show the actor(s) to be 2 males who also removed a Sony CD stereo and speaker box from another vehicle on the property. The Honda was recovered the following day in a field in the white Clay Creek Preserve. Investigation is active pending vehicle processing.
On October 10, 2011 at 1625 hours, NGPD responded to the 500 block of Hawthorne Lane for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The victim related that their Tom Tom GPS unit had been taken from their unlocked vehicle sometime overnight. The theft was discovered on October 9th but not reported to police right away. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On October 9, 2011 at 0832 hours, NGPD responded to a theft report in the 700 block of Brighton Circle. The victim related that sometime overnight someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole the Sirius radio. Victim could not provide any information on the radio. At 1105 hours another victim in the same block reported criminal mischief discovered to their property. The rope net on a basketball stand had been cut and was missing. Both investigations are inactive without leads.
On October 8, 2011 at 1422 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft in the 1200 block of Newark Road. The victims red and white Yamaha ATV had been taken from the unlocked shed. Investigation is pending contact with possible suspect.
On October 6, 2011 at 1840 hours, NGPD responded to the 700 block of Cedar Woods Circle for a report of theft. The property manager stated that non-residents used the complex trash dumpster to throw away items. The white male and female were in a blue Ford pickup with an extended cab. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On October 4, 2011 at 1500 hours, NGPD responded to the 300 block of Scarlett Road for a theft from a vehicle. The victim related that while inside a business someone entered her unlocked vehicle and removed her Garmin Nuvi700 GPS unit along with the charger cord. Two more reports for the same type of incident and same location were reported on October 6, 2011 at 1311 and 1709 hours. The investigation is pending arrest of suspects identified through video surveillance.
On September 30, 2011 at 1519 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft from vehicle in the 300 block of Scarlett Road. Upon arrival the victim related that while inside a business for 5 minutes someone stole the stereo (JVC CD player with AM radio only) from his vehicle. Surveillance cameras for the business did not catch any activity during the time in question. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On September 29, 2011 at 1545 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a burglary discovered in the 300 block of Cedar Springs Road. Upon arrival the victim related through a translator that a female had entered the residence and taken $1600 in US currency, a cell phone and charger. Investigation is pending interview of witness.
On September 27, 2011 at 1636 hours, NGPD responded to a report of drugs found on a subject. Upon arrival the defendant was found to have been taken to a court hearing in Delaware and upon arrival back at the facility was found to be in possession of 12 baggies of heroin and a needle. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On September 26 and September 30, 2011 at 1716 and 1815 hours, NGPD responded to reports of thefts in the Harrogate North development (Hollins and Crescent Roads). Both victims reported having delivered packages taken from their front porches. One victim saw a subject on his property but was unable to give any description. On September 24, 2011 at 2102 hours, NGPD responded for a report of a domestic that occurred in the 100 block of Chesterville Road. The victim stated her boyfriend forced her out of the house after an argument causing her to strike her head on a door jam. He continued to yell at her causing her to fear for her safety. The subject was charged with harassment and disorderly conduct. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On September 23, 2011 at 0021 hours, NGPD were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress in the 200 block of Chambers Road. Upon arrival it appeared that a homeless male had been staying in the metal outbuilding used for storage and was scared away by the building renter. The building has no locks and nothing of value is kept inside. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On September 22, 2011 at 2212 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a domestic in the 100 block of Main Street. Upon arrival the victim stated his grandson had struck him about the chin, arms and chest after kicking a door in. The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On September 19, 2011 at 2007 hours and 2333 hours, NGPD responded to accidents in the intersection of Newark Road and Gap Newport Pike and 500 block of Hillendale Road. Both accidents involved subjects who were under the influence of alcohol. The subjects were charged with DUI. Investigation is cleared by arrests in both incidents.
On September 19, 2011 at 1200 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft in the 900 block of Penn Green Road. The business owner advised that someone had been using their business account at a fuel station for a total of $7500 in charges. The user was identified and charges are pending. Investigation open pending arrest.
On September 3, 2011 at 1400 hours, NGPD were dispatched to a report of a dog bite in the 300 block of Center Street. Upon arrival the victim related that while she was running down the street a dog came from the residence and bit her. The skin was not broken but bruised. The dog owner did provide rabies and shot information but was advised she would be receiving a citation for the incident. Investigation is closed by arrest.
On September 1, 2011 at 1116 hours, NGPD were dispatched to a report of criminal mischief in the 400 block of Sharp Road. The victim related that someone damaged her mailbox. The pole was knocked over and the mailbox was intact. Victim feels the act was intentional although tire tracks indicate it appeared to be struck by a car that left the scene. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On August 30, 2011 at 2302 hours, NGPD responded to a report of an assault in the 300 block of Cedar Woods Circle. Upon arrival the victim related that her husband had assaulted her and had since barricaded himself inside the apartment. Entry was forced into the residence and the subject was arrested without incident. Investigation closed by arrest.
On August 29, 2011 at 1200 hours, NGPD was contacted by the Township Road Master about a phone call he received. A member of the family in the unit block of McCormick Drive suffers from ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease and the home is without power, which is needed for several life sustaining machines. PECO would not provide the family with an ETA. Arrangements were made to provide the household with a generator when advised their power had been restored.
On August 28, 2011 at 1421 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a theft from vehicle in the 100 block of Willow Street. Upon arrival the victim related that his stereo was taken from his vehicle sometime overnight. While on location another victim approached police and stated his stereo, speakers and amplifier were taken from his vehicle. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On August 27, 2011 at approx. 0700 hours, NGPD received a report of thefts from the 600 block of Hillendale Road and 1700 block of Baltimore Pike. Taken from each location were large amounts of copper electrical wires with Hubbell ends for A/C units. Investigation is on going.
On August 25, 2011 at 0720 hours, NGPD received a report of criminal mischief in the 100 block of Sawmill Road. The victim stated there were several obscene phrases spray-painted on his garage door. A check of the area found more damage done to property and mailboxes along Sawmill and Broad Run Road. Investigation is on going.
On August 22, 2011 at 1714 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a runaway juvenile in the 900 block of Newark Road. Upon arrival the mother and grandmother of the 13 y/o female stated she had not been seen since Sunday at 0400 hours. It is believed she is with her adult boyfriend. The juvenile was entered into NCIC. On August 24th the juvenile and her boyfriend were located. She was returned to her mother and the boyfriend (23 y/o) was arrested. Investigation is cleared by arrest.
On August 14, 2011 at 0638 hours, NGPD responded to a report of criminal mischief in the unit block of Okie Drive. The victim related that someone had draped toilet paper over a statue in her yard. Investigation is closed, as victim did not want any further police action.
On August 14, 2011 at 1610 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a burglary discovered in the 700 block of Garden Drive. The victim related that they arrived home from vacation and found items moved inside the house. A broken basement window appeared to be the point of entry although it appeared nothing was taken. Investigation is on going.
On August 13, 2011 at 2230 hours, NGPD were dispatched to the unit block of Hartefeld Drive for numerous thefts from vehicle complaints. The victims related that the windows to their vehicles were broken out and items taken from inside. The investigation is on going.
On August 12, 2011 at 2304 hours, a NGPD officer observed a vehicle commit several motor vehicle violations. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer made contact with the operator who smelled of an alcoholic beverage. The operator submitted to a chemical breath test. The investigation is cleared by arrest.
On August 12, 2011 at 2115 hours, NGPD responded to a report of an assault in the 8800 block of Gap Newport Pike. The victim related that he was struck in the head with a rock thrown by a former roommate. He did not know the actor’s full name and address and refused medical treatment. Investigation is inactive without leads.
On August 9, 2011 at 1407 hours, NGPD responded to a report of 2 shots heard in the area of the 200 block of Buttonwood Road. Upon arrival it was determined to be a resident trying to shoot down a hornets nest. Investigation cleared without arrest.
On July 30, 2011 at 1622 hours, NGPD investigated a fatal motor vehicle collision on Limestone Road (Rte. 7) near the Gap Newport Pike (Rte. 41) exchange and overpass. A motor vehicle traveling north, failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn into the path of a southbound tricycle. The operator and passenger of the tricycle were thrown from their vehicle at impact, causing both to strike passenger vehicle and subsequently the roadway. The passenger was pronounced dead at Christiana Emergency Room in Delaware, the driver was admitted in critical condition with life threatening injuries. The driver of the passenger car was also admitted with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is continuing; a charge decision will come after consultation with the District Attorney’s office.
On July 26, 2011 at 1926 hours, NGPD investigated a residential burglary in the 400 block of Cedar Springs Road. The victim relates that upon returning home they found the front door kicked in and their air conditioner stolen. The victim provided the name of some they suspect. The investigation is pending.
On July 25th and 27th, NGPD investigated multiple theft reports of copper from the 100 block of Cooper Road. The copper wire was stolen from the air conditioning unit and valued in excess of $1,000.00. The complaint was turned over to Sgt. Nangle who recovered the copper from a scrap yard after receiving a tip. The complaint is still under investigation.
On July 25, 2011 at 1634 hours, NGPD investigated a harassment complaint in the unit block of Clubhouse Drive. The victim advised that an unknown suspect verbally threatened him using profane language attempting to start a fight. The suspect walked off, but was located and identified by responding officers. The suspect alleged that the victim had made crude comments to his girlfriend earlier in the week, adding that he was angry at the victim. No prosecution was desired, the suspect was released with a trespass warning.
On Sunday July 24, 2011 at 0130 hours NGPD were dispatched to a report of a robbery in the 900 block of Penn Green Road. Both victims were able to identify the suspects who had used a knife and stole a cell phone during the incident. Both suspects were later taken into custody.
On Saturday July 23, 2011 at 2153 hours NGPD conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Hillendale Road. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana.
On Thursday July 21, 2011 at 1002 hours NGPD responded to a report of a physical domestic in the 1200 block of Kaolin Rd. Upon arrival the wife stated the husband had already left the residence. She did obtain a PFA later that day keeping the husband from the residence until a hearing on the matter at a later date.
On Monday July 18, 2011 at 1621 hours, NGPD was dispatched along with the Fire Department for a water rescue at the Somerset Lake Clubhouse. The call was originally for 4 kids stuck on the lake in an overturned canoe. Upon arrival it was learned that only 2 kids in 1 canoe had tipped over and were able to right the canoe and paddle to the dock. Neither had been wearing lifejackets, including the 2 in the canoe that remained upright.
On July 16, 2011 at 2340 hours, NGPD received an indecent assault complaint on a three-year victim from the hospital staff at AI DuPont Children’s Hospital. The preliminary investigation identified the location of incident as being in the 1300 block of West Baltimore Pike. Follow-up investigation done by Sgt. Nangle revealed the incident occurring in the City of Wilmington, DE. NGPD assisted with information transfer.
On July 16, 2011 at 1207 hours, NGPD responded to a disturbance in the 1300 block of Newark Road. Upon arrival, officers found a subject refusing to leave the premises and acting disorderly by throwing a liquid at the facility staff. The subject was removed from the premises by police without further incident.
On July 14, 2011 at 1433 hours, NGPD investigated a retail theft complaint in the 300 block of Scarlet Road. The suspect was observed by store security shoplifting beauty items. The suspect was detained without incident and turned over to the police department for arrest action. The suspect was transported and processed at the PSP barracks.
On July 13, 2011 at 1228 hours, NGPD investigated a theft complaint in the 300 block of Scarlet Road. The victim states that the suspect(s) stole several pairs of shoes which were displayed for sale outside the business. The suspect fled in an unknown direction; a canvas yielded negative results.
On July 11, 2011 at 1601 hours, NGPD investigated a theft complaint in the 6000 block of Limestone Road. The victim advised that she had left her purse hidden under the seat of secured vehicle. Upon returning to her vehicle she discovered the window smashed and her purse stolen.
On July 8, 2011 at 2342 hours, NGPD responded to the Jennersville Regional Hospital to meet with a victim of an assault occurring in the Village of Toughkenamon. Upon arrival, the victim was uncooperative, stated only that the assault occurred at the car wash after an argument about beer. Contrary to medical advice, the victim left the hospital without completing treatment. The victim sustained a serious lower lip injury (one-half appeared to have been bitten off).
On July 6, 2011 at 0800 hours, NGPD responded to a series of motor vehicle break-ins in the 500 block of Oakland Court, which is in the Bancroft Woods subdivision. Over the night time hours, between 2045 hours and 0645 hours, unknown suspects broke into six (6) vehicles and stole numerous electronic item in excess of $1,000.00.
On July 5, 2011 at 1305 hours, NGPD responded to a report of a criminal trespass in the 200 block of Maple Lane. Upon arrival, the officer confronted the actor leaving the location. While conducting the investigation, the officer learned that the matter was domestic related and the actor had been warned previously not to return to the residence by the victim. A non-traffic summons was filed against the actor for criminal trespass.
On July 4, 2011 at 1229 hours, NGPD investigated a criminal mischief complaint in the 900 block of Baltimore Pike West. The victim reported damage (graffiti) to his commercial building at several locations. A canvas of the scene yielded no evidence. Photographs were taken and entered into evidence. It should be noted that during the time frame of this report, numerous acts of vandalism by graffiti occurred through the northeast region of the township, to both private and public property. The graffiti ranged from gang-related signs, ethnically biased symbols and pornographic drawings. The incidents are pending active.
On July 3, 2011 at 1432 hours, NGPD officers investigated an allegation of sexual assault on a child in the 100 block of Buena Vista Drive. The suspect was detained by ICE officials, while the investigation was being conducted. Pending active.
On July 1, 2011 at 1749 hours, NGPD officers were performing foot patrol in the 400 block of Buena Vista Drive. It should be noted that this was being done after Cpl. Greenwalt consulted with the HOA president about the on-going order maintenance problems in the community. The officers observed several subjects drinking and publically intoxicated. Officers also observed drug paraphernalia present. The officers arrested the two violators.
On June 29, 2011 at 1512 hours, NGPD investigated a residential burglary occurring in the unit block of Stirrup Court. The victim relates that an unknown suspect entered the residence during the daytime hours. Numerous electronic items were stolen. The scene was processed for evidence; the investigation is pending active.
On June 28, 2011 at 0136 hours, NGPD investigated a theft occurring in the 700 block of Newark Road. The victim relates that an unknown suspect entered the unsecured front door of the business and stole his two laptops along with his wallet. The officer was able to obtain photographic evidence of the suspects using the victim’s credit card. The investigation is pending active.
On June 27, 2011 at 0112 hours, a NGPD officer observed a motor vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed in the 300 block of Scarlet Road. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer detected signs of intoxication. After additional testing, the operator was taken into custody and transported to the PSP barracks for breath testing. The operator’s BAC was a .159%. The operator was charged with DUI and related traffic offenses.
On June 25, 2011 at 2148 hours, NGPD responded to a theft and criminal mischief from a motor vehicle in the parking lot of Hartefeld Drive. The victim advised that she was only in the lot for approximately an hour, when she returned she discovered the passenger side window broken and her purse stolen. There are no witnesses to the incident; the investigation is inactive.
On June 24, 2011 at 1942 hours, NGPD officers responded to a trespass complaint in the 200 block of Landenberg Road. Upon arrival, officers met the victim, who is the ex-husband to the suspect. The suspect had recently been discharged from a mental facility and returned to the aforementioned location after having been warned numerous times not to return. The suspect was arrested without incident for trespass and incarcerated in lieu of bail.
On June 22, 2011 at 2039 hours, NGPD officers responded to a domestic dispute in progress in the Unit block of Daniel Drive. Upon arrival, officers located the husband in the residence and the wife at the neighbors’ residence. Officers were advised that prior to the wife fleeing the residence, she allegedly “slapped” her husband across the forehead. The couple desired no prosecution; they were advised to seek counseling and to remain in separate locations for the evening.
On June 20, 2011 at 1202 hours, NGPD investigated a theft from motor vehicle in the 300 block of Scarlet Road. The victim advised that while having lunch in a nearby business, an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and stole her tack equipment. There are no witnesses to the incident; the investigation is inactive.
On June 12, 2011 at 2130 hours, NGPD officer observed a subject operating a vehicle on Newark Road, 50 feet north of Baltimore Pike swerving throughout his lane of travel. The subject was stopped and subsequently arrested for DUI.
On June 10, 2011 at 1349 hours, NGPD responded to the 1300 block of Newark Road for a fight-in-progress. Upon arrival, officers learned that the altercation had ceased, but that the instigating party was still present. That subject was arrested and removed from the premises without further incident.
On June 9, 2011 at 2358 hours, NGPD investigated a complaint of a noise disturbance in the 800 block of Gap Newport Pike. Upon arrival, the officer learned that the complaint stemmed from the residents talking too loudly. The subjects were contacted and complied with a warning to cease their behavior.
On June 8, 2011 at 0800 hours, NGPD investigated a burglary in the 200 block of Honey Locust Lane. The victim relates that she parked her vehicle in the garage overnight, but is uncertain if she closed the door. The victim relates that she discovered her two (2) purses and their contents were missing from the vehicle. A canvas of the surrounding neighbors yielded negative results.
On June 7, 2011 at 0843 hours, NGPD assisted the Chester County Health Department with an ongoing violation of a vendor selling food without a license. The violation was observed in the 1200 block of Newark Road. The suspect was arrested and her vehicle and cash proceeds were seized pending a forfeiture review by the District Attorney’s office.
On June 4, 2011 at 1528 hours, NGPD investigated a report of a theft from the 300 block of Scarlet Road. The victim relates that during a twenty minute span, an unknown suspect stole her purse from her shopping cart. The victim’s purse contained USC and assorted credit cards. The investigation is pending active.
On June 2, 2011 at 1743 hours, NGPD investigated a report domestic in the 100 block of Church Street. Upon arrival, officers met the reporting person who advised that his wife locked him out of their residence. No further action taken.
On June 1, 2011 at 1038 hours, NGPD investigated an internal theft from a business in the 900 block of Cypress Street. The reporting person advised that they suspected an employee of stealing in excess of $7K from the business. The matter is still under investigation, pending a consultation with the District Attorney’s Office.
On May 31, 2011 at 1345 hours, NGPD investigated an ongoing domestic related harassment emanating from the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike. The victim related that suspect and her 9 year old child gave her an obscene gesture and further posted harassing matters on Facebook. The officer mediated a resolution with both parties without having to take arrest actions.
On May 30, 2011 at 1300 hours, NGPD investigated a report of a disturbance in the 1300 block of Newark Road. Upon arrival, officers learned that a patient walked off campus and was attempting to return onto the grounds. The subject was advised that he was to leave and not return. The subject complied; no further police action required.
On May 27, 2011 at 1303 hours, NGPD responded to a physical domestic in the 300 block of Bucktoe Road. Upon arrival, officers learned that there was physical contact between mutual combatants, medical were services refused. Both parties were cited for harassment; investigation closed by arrest.
On May 26, 2011 at 1953 hours, NGPD investigated a theft from a motor vehicle parked in the 500 block of McCue Road. The victim relates that his laptop computer was stolen from his secured vehicle. The investigation is pending inactive.
On May 26, 2011 at 0820 hours, NGPD investigated a theft from a business in the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike. Upon arrival, officers met the victim who advised that sometime on May 22nd unknown suspect(s) stole copper coil valued at $4,000.00. Video surveillance was obtained and shared with nearby police departments. The investigation is pending active.
On May 25, 2011 at 0144 hours, NGPD investigated a report of a 911 hang-up in the 300 block of Cedar Springs Road. Upon arrival, officers learned that the matter was a domestic between a husband and a wife. One of the participants was eventually transported to Jennersville Regional Hospital after losing consciousness. The investigation is pending active.
On May 23, 2011 at 0810 hours, NGPD investigated a report of an alarm activation at the Wells Fargo bank in the 400 block of Scarlet Road. It was later discovered that the cleaning crew mistakenly left a door unsecured; no further action required.
On May 22, 2011 at 0020 hours, NGPD responded to a disturbance call in the 100 block of Pau Nel Drive. Officers stopped four subjects who were found to have been consuming alcoholic beverages prior to their 21st birthdays. All were cited and released.
On May 19, 2011 at 1600 hours, NGPD investigated a sexual assault (attempted rape) in the 100 block of Heatherly Lane. See press release, distributed on May 23rd for details.
On May 19, 2011 at 0010 hours, NGPD investigated a theft from motor vehicle at Hartefeld Golf Club. The victim relates that while her locked vehicle was parked in the lot an unknown suspect broke out the passenger window and stole her laptop and bank checks. The investigation is inactive.
On May 18, 2011 at 1421 hours, NGPD investigated a report of a burglary in the 1400 block of Baltimore Pike. The victim relates that an unknown suspect entered her unsecure residence and stole cash, jewelry and electronic equipment. The investigation is continuing.
On May 17, 2011 at 1010 hours, NGPD responded to the area of Giant Foods store for a report of person in distress, alleged to have taken an overdose amount of prescription drugs. Upon responding, officers were further advised that the suspect and reporting person were having a physical domestic. Upon arrival, the suspect advised the officer he had a gun, which prompted the officer to use force (display of weapon) until back-up officers arrived. Once back-up officers arrived, the suspect was arrested without further incident.
On May 16, 2011 at 1149 hours, NGPD investigated a report of a theft in the 1400 block of Baltimore Pike. The victim relates that during the overnight hours an unknown suspect entered an unlocked Honda and stole the radio and speakers. Upon inspecting the scene, the victim further related that he recovered identification and other paperwork belonging to the potential suspect who had recently been released from Bowling Green. The investigation is continuing.
On May 16, 2011 at 0825 hours, NGPD investigated a report of a theft in the 1200 block of Baltimore Pike. The victim relates that within the last 30 days, an unknown suspect stole a trailer, valued at $5,000.00, belonging to the business. The information was entered into NCIC and the investigation is continuing.
On May 4, 2011 at 0827 hours, a NGPD officer responded to the 300 block of Sunny Dell Road for a report of a theft from the construction site. The victim relates that during the overnight hours, an unknown suspect stole copper pipe valued at $700.00. The investigation is inactive.
On May 3, 2011 at 1826 hours, NGPD officers responded to the 200 block of Landenberg Road for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers were advised by the husband/wife that they wanted a police present while property was being obtained. Officers remain on scene to prevent a breach of peace. No further police action required.
On May 2, 2011 at 1644 hours, NGPD officers responded to the 100 block of Main Street for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, the involved parties (father/daughter) advised they had been arguing and that there was physical contact. No physical evidence of injury was observed. Both parties desired no further action and were subsequently warned. No further police action required.
On May 2, 2011 at 1521 hours, NGPD officers responded to the 300 block of Pemberton Road in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, the investigation revealed that the dispute was verbal. All parties were warned. No further police action required.
On May 2, 2011 at 0918 hours, a NGPD officer responded to the Unit Block of Wilkinson Drive for a report of Identity Theft. The victim relates that he was notified by his credit card company of two purchases in excess of $2,000.00 from Apple. The victim didn’t authorize said purchase and the order was halted. The matter has been referred to Apple internal security team. No further police action required.
On April 30, 2011 at 2047 hours, New Garden Township Police Department received a hit and run accident complaint from the owner of a property in the 8000 block of Crossan Lane. PO Jeffery Call, an 5 year veteran of the New Garden Township police department responded to the complaint. PO Call learned that the driver of red four-wheel drive Ford truck struck a residential mushroom barracks and then fled the scene prior to police arrival. The property owner was able to provide driver information which identified the suspect as Leonel Tomas Jimenez of the 500 block of Creek Road in Kennett Square, PA.

PO Call responded to that location and found Jimenez still seated behind the wheel of the vehicle. Shortly after the suspect exited the vehicle, he fled on foot and PO Call gave chase. During the foot pursuit, PO Call was injured after falling down a 25 foot rocky embankment. PO Call was transported by ambulance to Chester County Hospital with laceration to head and leg and multiple contusions. PO Call was later treated and released with non-life threatening injuries. Jimenez was located and arrested by assisting police officers from Kennett Square Borough and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Jimenez was charged numerous criminal violations; he was subsequently arraigned and is incarcerated in lieu of 100K cash bail at the Chester County Prison.


On April 30, 2011, the NGPD participated in the DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Program hosted by the Giant Foods Store at 350 Scarlet Road, from 1000 to 1400 hours. By the conclusion of the event, 84 pounds of prescription and over-the-counter medication was seized and subsequently turned over to the DEA for proper destruction.
On April 28, 2011 at 2119 hours, NGPD officers responded to a check on the welfare complaint in front of the Brown Derby stemming from a subject forced to leave the Bowling Green rehabilitation center. The subject, who was from Reading, PA, advised that he was stranded and was refused a phone call opportunity from the personnel at Bowling Green after he refused to share a room with someone he consider dangerous to his health. A Good Samaritan offered the subject a place to stay until morning when he could make travel arrangements. No further action required.
On April 27, 2011 at 2127 hours, a NGPD officer responded to a report of a physical domestic in the 200 block of Thistledown Drive between a husband and a wife. Upon arrival, the husband had left the scene. The victim related that they had been arguing for a couple hours over a variety of issues. The victim further related that her husband left after shoving her out of the way. No criminal charges were preferred due to no victim cooperation and no visual physical evidence. No further action required.
On April 23, 2011 at 1330 hours, an NGPD officer investigated another theft from the 1700 block of Baltimore Pike. A 25 foot electric cord valued at $150.00 was stolen. The investigation is pending active.
On April 23, 2011 at 1315 hours, an NGPD officer investigated a theft of a 48 foot trailer from the 1700 block of Baltimore Pike. The trailer is valued at $5,000.00. The information was placed into NCIC; the investigation is pending active.
On April 21, 2011 at 1426 hours, NGPD officers responded to the 1100 block of Newark Road for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, the reporting person advised that three suspects (who were GOA) made several rude comments towards his wife. The suspects left prior to officers arriving; no further action taken.
On April 19, 2011 at 1625 hours, NGPD officers responded to a report of criminal mischief at the Cedar Wood Circle. Upon arrival, two juvenile males were briefly detained during the investigation. It was learned that the reporting person didn’t actually witness the subjects commit damage to the property. Both subject were warned for trespass and released.
On April 18, 2011 at 2344 hours, NGPD officers responded to a depressed and suicidal subject in the 9000 block of Gap Newport Pike. Upon arrival, officers met the subject who claimed to be considering “suicide-by-cop” as a means to his death. The officer successfully negotiated the subject into being transported by a relative to Brandywine Hospital for an evaluation.
On April 16, 2011 at 1759 hours, NGPD was dispatched to a report of a theft of fuel from the Giant Foods in the 300 block of Scarlett Road. Upon arrival obtained the PA registration. Contact with the driver/owner is pending. The investigation is active, pending a follow-up.
On April 15, 2011 at 2208 hours, NGPD was dispatched for a suspicious person on the railroad tracks in the 100 block of Pine Street. Upon arrival the subject was located and found to be highly intoxicated and suffering from apparent self-inflicted injuries due to having fallen. The subject was arrested and transported home.
On April 12, 2011 at 2326 hours, a NGPD officer observed a driver commit several motor vehicle violations at Newark Road and Old Baltimore Pike. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer observed that the driver had been drinking alcoholic beverages. The operator was arrested for DUI and related offenses.
On April 12, 2011 at 1319 hours, NGPD responded to a second-party report of a depressed and suicidal subject in the 9000 Block of Gap Newport Pike. Upon arrival, officers located the subject who admitted to being depressed and having difficulty with medications, but denied being suicidal. The subject was turned over to EMS personnel transported for treatment. No further action taken or required.
On April 12, 2011 at 1705 hours, NGPD assisted the West Grove Borough police department with a report of a suicidal person in the 600 block of Freedom Drive. The subject was taken into custody and turned over to EMS personnel. No further action taken or required.
On April 8, 2011 at 2250 hours, officers respond to the intersection of Gap Newport Pike and Penn Green Road for a report of an accident. Upon investigating the officer found that the operator of the striking vehicle had been drinking alcoholic beverages. The operator was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI.
On April 6, 2011 at 1818 hours, officers responded to call for assistance for a vehicle pursuit involving the Delaware State Police chasing a burglary suspect. NG officers locate the suspect vehicle on Marshall Bridge Road and Southridge Road, wherein a pursuit is initiated. The vehicle flees back towards Delaware and in the process causes minor damage to both NG police vehicles. The Pennsylvania State Police then preform a controlled collision with the suspect vehicle, which bring the pursuit to an end in Delaware. The suspects were arrested without further incident.
On April 4, 2011 at 1130 hours, an officer investigated a late report of a residential burglary in the 900 block of Baltimore Pike. Upon surveying the crime scene no point of entry could be found. The victim is compiling a stolen list property. The investigation is pending active.
On April 4, 2011 at 1405 hours, an officer investigated an internal theft complaint occurring in the unit block of Willow Street. The investigation revealed that an employee of an internet-based clothing/novelty business was accused of stealing in excess of $1,400.00 of merchandise. With the victim’s consent, the suspect agreed to pay her ex-employer and criminal charges were evaded.
On April 3, 2011 at 2308 hours, an officer responded to investigate an alarm activation in the unit block of Henley Drive. Upon arrival, the building was found secure, but two persons were located in the parking lot. While investigating their purpose in the parking lot, the officer noticed that one of the persons had a distinct odor of marijuana emanating from his vehicle. The actor admitted to having a small amount of marijuana. The evidence was seized and charges are pending.
On April 2, 2011at 1853 hours, an officer self-initiated an investigation into graffiti on the Big Lots building in the 300 block of Scarlett Road. The investigation is inactive with no suspect leads; furthermore the graffiti appears to have no relation to gang activity.
On April 2, 2011 at 1136 hours, an officer initiated a motor vehicle stop for a non-moving traffic violation at Gap Newport Pike and Newark Road. Upon investigating the operator was found to be wanted on outstanding traffic warrants. The actor was arrested without incident.
On April 1, 2011 at 1504 hours, an officer handled a complaint of solicitors in the 1500 block of Broad Run Road. Upon investigating, the actors were located and cited for violating the local ordinance prohibited said conduct.
On March 30, 2011 at 1740 hours, an officer initiated a motor vehicle stop for a non-moving traffic violation at Gap Newport Pike and Limestone Road. Upon investigating the operator was found to be wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police. The actor was arrested and turned over without incident.
On March 19, 2011 at 2258 hours, officers responded to a building fire in the 1700 block of Baltimore Pike. The investigation has been assigned to the detective for additional follow-up.
On March 19, 2011 at 2036 hours, an officer responded to a theft complaint in the unit block of Hartefeld Drive. The investigation revealed that unknown suspect entered into two vehicles and stole property from within.
On March 18, 2011 at 0845 hours, an officer responded to a report of graffiti in the 700 block of Cedar Woods Circle. The compliant is inactive without investigative leads. The complaint is inactive without investigative leads.
On March 18, 2011 at 1130 hours, an officer investigated a domestic assault that occurred in the 100 block of Landenberg Road. During the incident the suspect broke into the victim’s residence while she was sleeping, whereupon he physically assaulted the victim by choking her and restraining her against her will. After warrants were obtained, the suspect turned himself in without incident.
On March 16, 2011 at 1423 hours, an officer responded to a retail theft at the Giant located at 350 Scarlett Road. The suspect was taken into custody and arrested without incident.
On March 15, 2011 at 1154 hours, an officer responded to the 1200 block of Newark Road for a report of a theft of copper from the cellular tower. An unknown suspect entered onto the property and stole several copper grounding plates. Total value to replace is in excess of $1,700.00.
On March 13, 2011 at 1115 hours, officers responded to a report theft in the unit block of Middleton Lane. Upon arrival, officers learned that several vehicles had been entered over the night and electronic items stolen. The investigation is pending.
On March 12, 2011 at 0054 hours, an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the 800 block of Cypress Street. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer discovered that the driver of the vehicle had a suspended license and in possession of what appeared to be crack cocaine. The driver was arrested and released without incident.
On March 11, 2011 at 2159 hours, officers responded to a physical domestic complaint in the 8000 block of Gap Newport Pike. Upon arrival, officers arrested two subjects for criminal trespass and other related offenses.
On March 9, 2011 at 1440 hours, an identity theft complaint was received from a victim residing in the 1200 block of Baltimore Pike. The investigation reveals that an unknown suspect used the victim’s information to open a Direct TV account. The investigation is pending.
On March 9, 2011 at 1539 hours, officers assisted with a residential fire investigation in the 400 block of Line Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that the cause was most likely accidental. Information was turned over to the Zoning and Building for additional investigation.
On March 8, 2011 at 2130 hours, an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the 800 block of Cypress Street. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer discovered that the driver of the vehicle, age 18 years, had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The driver was cited and released without incident.
